Thank you for considering Torch Lake Retreat for your vacation destination. Troy and I love the Northwoods. When we bought new sleds, we decided it was time to find a place as far north as possible! Conover allows us just that! We are located just up the road from the snowmobile and ATV trail. Torch Lake is a very quiet, non motorized lake. The neighbors are great and live here to enjoy the peace and quiet. Our goal is to let other like minded people enjoy the cabin we love. It is important to us that when renting our cabin out we do not disturb the neighbors.  Please read our frequently asked questions to learn more.

Questions and Answers

Q: Why do you have a 3 day minimum, what if we only want to come up for the weekend?

A: We chose the 3 days to cut back on added fees. Cleaning fees are quite high and we have incorporated them in for a stay of 3 nights and longer. Shorter stay may be possible but a cleaning fee will be needed. We also would have to be sure the cleaners have the availability.

Q: Why are cats not allowed?

A: I am very allergic to cats so sadly we can not allow them. 

Q: Do you supply firewood?

A: We do not. There is a stand up the road. I am sure you will notice it on your way to the cabin. If there is some wood cut it will be sitting out back. Cutting and splitting wood is very time consuming.

Q: Can we check in early or check out late?

A: If you are looking for special times please let us know. Our cleaners are very busy and we always have to check with them.

Q: How come things look a bit different then the photos?

A: We use the cabin regularly and are always looking to improve things. Décor, bedding and even amenities can change. 

Q: Do you supply paper towel, napkins, plates, toilet paper ect?

A: We always try to have plenty of those things available. We do not guaranty those items because we can never know what the prior guest may use. There is a gas station right in Conover that you can get most things you may need. Even a good steak if wanted. We are also within 10 miles of Eagle River with grocery stores and a Kwik Trip.

Q: What happens if the power goes out?

A: This area is known to get some heavy storms. In the event of a power outage we are at the mercy of the power company. Please note this is something we can not control. No refunds can be issued due to power or internet outages.

Q: Is the internet stable? How fast is it?

A: The internet can be great at times but it has been known to go out. We can not guaranty the service. It seems to run multiple streaming Tv's and cell phones. I am not sure how fast. The internet service is Frontier.

Q: Do you have TV? Can we get sports games live?

A: We have multiple Tv's. Some are connected to an antenna and some just have a Roku. The living room TV's seem to have a general guide that somehow streams live! No idea how it works...We do enjoy our sports and the Roku usually has a way to get the games. We can not guaranty everything you want to watch will be available but we are here to help you try to stream it.
